# How does the licensing system work?

When buying licenses you must buy 1 licence per device. You can buy directly through our website [www.android-kiosk.com](http://www.android-kiosk.com), and it is not tied to your Google Account. **There are no yearly licensing or maintenance fees and you receive free upgrades for the lifetime of the product.**

**Examples:**  
If you buy 1 licence you will receive one licence key and can use this on 1 device.  
If you buy 5 licences you will you will receive one licence key and can use this on up-to 5 devices.
  
**Understanding Activation**  
Each licence key has a number of activation slots based on the number of licenses you have bought. When activating a device an activation slot is reserved from the total number of slots.  
  
**Example:**  
You have one licence key with 5 activation slots, 4 activation slots are in use and you activate another device, there are now 0 remaining slots.
