Updating Kiosk Browser


  • Option 1 - Google Play Update


Firstly, you will need to close the Kiosk Browser application.

In the Android Apps menu, search for the Google Play Store application and open it.


Search for kiosk browser lockdown


Select "Update"



This will then update the version of Kiosk Browser installed on the device, which should take less than a minute.


Once completed, return to the Android Apps menu, and reopen the Kiosk Browser application. If/when prompted to 'Use Kiosk Browser as Home', select "Always"; see: Setting the Default Launcher



  • Option 2 - Updating via APK File


Firstly, you will need to close the Kiosk Browser application.

Open Google Chrome on the device (the standard web browser)


Go to the Kiosk Browser website by typing the following URL into the address bar: https://www.android-kiosk.com/


Select "Install Now":



Select the APK File Link




If prompted with a warning stating "File might be harmful" confirm the text shows you are downloading "com.procoit.kioskbrowser.apk" and select "Download anyway"




You should then see a prompt stating the file has been downloaded, select "Open"




Click on the downloaded file shown:





You will then see a prompt asking if you want to update the app. Select "Update"





The update will begin installing...




Once the update has been applied/installed, select "Open"




Once completed, return to the Android Apps menu, and reopen the Kiosk Browser application. If/when prompted to 'Use Kiosk Browser as Home', select "Always"; see: Setting the Default Launcher
