KB: Default Storage Location

By default Kiosk Browser creates a folder structure on the default storage medium as defined by getExternalStorageDirectory()). On some devices this may be internal storage, on others it may be an external SD card, this is entirely dependent on how the device manufacturer has configured storage on the device. To find your default storage path you can either access Settings > Admin and look at the import/export path (as per below) or look at the device properties in the Kiosk Browser Management console.

In simple terms the default storage area is the home/root folder on the device. If you can see folders such as Pictures, Downloads, kioskbrowser then you are in the correct place.

The standard folder structure is as follows:

/DEFAULTSTORAGE/kioskbrowser/
/DEFAULTSTORAGE/kioskbrowser/screensaver/
/DEFAULTSTORAGE/kioskbrowser/accessdenied/
/DEFAULTSTORAGE/kioskbrowser/errorpage/
/DEFAULTSTORAGE/kioskbrowser/screensaver/
/DEFAULTSTORAGE/kioskbrowser/localcontent/

You can store files in these folders for the relevant features.

Some Android 10 devices and all Android 11 devices will store files here: /android/data/com.procoit.kioskbrowser/files/kioskbrowser/
